A five-run third inning helped Shaker pull away for a 12-3 Suburban Council baseball victory over Saratoga Wednesday.
Tyler Hoffman had a big day at the plate and on the pitcher’s mound for the Blue Bison (2-0). Besides throwing a three-hitter, Hoffman helped his own cause with a home run and a single.
Ben Cassillo contributed a triple and two singles, while Garrett Klahr added three hits for Shaker in a game called after five innings due to rain. Sean Egan doubled and singled.
Jack Herman singled twice for Saratoga (1-2), which scored all of its runs in the top of the fifth inning after Shaker had built a 10-run advantage.
