Saratoga Springs scored four times in the second period on its way to a 7-0 victory over Shenendehowa in Wednesday’s Capital District High School Hockey League game at Weibel Avenue Rink.
Goals by Matt Flynn, Ryan Flynn and Drew Patterson in the first five minutes of the second period gave the Blue Streaks (11-0-0 league, 14-2-1 overall) a 4-0 lead. Brendon Wormley tallied with 12 seconds left in the stanza to add to Saratoga’s advanatage.
Ryan and Matt Flynn each finished with two goals and two assists for the Blue Streaks, and goaltender Dakota Smith stopped 14 shots to pick up the shutout.
Goalies Brian Walter and Ben Farstad combined to make 39 saves for the Plainsmen (9-2-1, 11-6-1).
