We had a typo in this week’s print editions, so here are the correct No. 1 seeds for you to vote on in this week’s poll centering around the Section II girls soccer playoffs:
Niskayuna (Class AA) — With Shaker eliminating Saratoga in the quarterfinals, none of the remaining teams in this year’s field have beaten the top-seeded Silver Warriors. But defending champion Bethlehem might have something to say about it in Saturday’s semifinal round when it meets Niskayuna.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (Class A) — The Lady Spartans have traditionally fared well once they get out of playing against Suburban Council competition, and so far that’s been the case again after they trounced Glens Falls 13-1 in the quarterfinals. Wednesday’s semifinal game is against a Mohonasen team they beat 5-0 at the beginning of October.
Schalmont (Class B) — The defending state champion Sabres have outscored their opponents 131-2 this season. Coxsackie-Athens will give it a go against Schalmont in Thursday’s semifinals.
Hoosick Falls (Class C) — The Panthers may be the shakiest team out of the four top seeds we selected for this poll, as they face a talented Galway squad in Wednesday’s semifinal round.
As always, we leave the voting to you. The poll remains open until midnight Monday, regardless of what happens through Saturday’s finals in all classes except for Class AA, which plays its final next week.
