The National Football League may be `pass happy` these days, but area high school teams seem more content to keep the ball on the ground. Therefore, they rely on running backs to move the them down the field. These five Class AA running backs have been very good in doing that. They are:
Aidan O’Brien (Niskayuna) — The sophomore sensation has already rushed for 1,017 yards and 14 touchdowns as the Silver Warriors’ workhorse
Mike Graves (Bethlehem) — He has four games where he’s rushed for more than 100 yards
Devon Edwards (Colonie) — He gained 594 yards in his team’s first five games before missing last week’s contest against Columbia
Cameron Wynn (CBA) — He leads the unbeaten Brothers in rushing with 582 yards and eight touchdowns
Ryan Griffin (Shaker) — After struggling through the first two games with the lingering effects of an injury, Griffin is back to form with two consecutive games where he’s rushed for more than 100 yards
So, which of these running backs is the best? That’s up to you to decide. Cast your votes between now and midnight Monday.
