The Niskayuna girls soccer team scored three times in the first half on its way to a 5-0 Suburban Council North Division victory over Ballston Spa Thursday.
Meghan Doyle had a hat trick, and Anka Parzych contributed two goals and an assist for the Silver Warriors (2-0-0). Ballston Spa goaltender Penny Smith made 11 saves.
Boys soccer
The Niskayuna boys soccer team (1-1-0) edged Ballston Spa 1-0 on Brendan Griffiths’ penalty kick goal in the 78th minute. Ballston Spa goaltender Brady King had 14 saves.
Field hockey
Queensbury scored twice in the second half to edge Scotia-Glenville 2-1 in Thursday’s Foothills Council field hockey game in Scotia.
Jessica Pajak’s goal with 6:10 remaining in the first half gave the Lady Tartans a 1-0 lead. Queensbury’s Courtney Jenkins tied the game at 1 midway through the second half, and Anna Shutles added the go-ahead goal with 7:11 left in regulation.
Goaltender Vanessa Walker made four saves for Scotia-Glenville.
