TROY — The Colonie girls basketball season came to an end at the hands of the No. 1 seed Shenendehowa on Thursday, March 3.

The Colonie defense did a solid job holding Shen senior standout Jillian Huerter to just 11 points, but junior Kaleigh Montanez, who returned from a second quarter ankle injury, had a career high 26 points to lead all scorers.
Shen will square off against the No. 3 seed Albany at HVCC for the Section II, Class AA title on Saturday. Albany got by No. 2 seed Shaker in the other semifinal game 46-40.
