CLIFTON PARK — The Colonie girls defeated Columbia in the Section II, Class AA quarterfinals by a score of 59-51, and will now face No. 1 seed Shenendehowa in the semis.
The Garnet Raiders, the No. 4 seed, was led by junior Jayla Taylor with 15 while sophomore Gabby Martin had 13, junior Bella Franci had 12 and senior Macie Trimarchi had 10.
Leah Phillips had 18 for Columbia and Kendyll Ouimette had 15.
Shen handily defeated No. 8 seed Niskayuna, 63-34, in the other quarterfinal matchup at Shenendehowa High School on Thursday, Feb. 25. Niskayuna defeated No. 9 seed Guilderland in a play in game.
Colonie and Shen will square off on Thursday, March 3 at Hudson Valley Community College. Tip is set for 7:30.
In the other semifinal matchup, No. 2 seed Shaker will take on No. 3 seed Albany at HVCC on March 3. Tip is set for 6 p.m.
