COLONIE — Shen dominated Guilderland in the second half to finish its regular season Suburban Council field hockey season with a 3-1 win on Friday, Nov. 13.
Ava Thompson gave the Lady Dutch an early 1-0 lead but Shen’s Hannah Merritt tied it up in the second quarter under the lights at Afrim’s Sports Park.
The second half belonged to Shen with goals by Rachel Sterle and Molly Miller.
There is no sectional or regional competition this year, but the Suburban Council tournament will begin on Monday.
Shen and Burnt Hills will get byes in the first round while Guilderland will take on Shaker at Afrim’s and Saratoga will host Columbia.
Shen will take on the winner of Guilderland and Shaker on Wednesday and Burnt Hills will host the winner of the other game with the championship game slated for Friday.
