SPOTTED: AllStars Beat Barnstormers 6-4

COLONIE — The AllStars Academy 16U team defeated the Hayner Academy Barnstormers 6-4 on Thursday, July 30 at Cook Park.

Ryan Johnston got the W for the Allstars, based out of Latham, surrendering two runs on two hits while walking three and striking out five over three innings. John Stoliker pitched three innings in relief, giving up two runs on five hits while walking three and striking out two. Benjamin Huckans came in in the seventh and gave up a hit and a walk but struck out three for the save.

After jumping out on top 1-0 on a Nicholas Plue single in the first inning, John Wells hit a two-run blast over the right field wall to give the AllStars a 3-1 lead.

Stephen Higgins went 2 for 2 at the plate for the AllStars while Wells and Plue went 2 for 3.

N. Marshall took the loss for Hayner, out of Clifton Park, allowing six runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out four over three innings. C. Patrick and C. Maloney each went 2 for 4 for Hayner.
