BETHLEHEM — The Eagles lost a non-conference game to Mekeel Christian Academy on Tuesday, Jan. 7, buy a score of 78-49.
The Eagles are 4-0 in Suburban Council play, and 5-2 overall, and are near the top of the competitive Blue Division. Shen is also undefeated at 3-0 and Colonie is 5-1. Schenectady leads the Gray Division at 5-2.
Bethlehem hung with the squad from the Schenectady private school that plays independent along with Albany Academy and Green Tech, for the first half and were tied at one point midway through the second quarter. But the Eagles were outscored 17-12 in the third and 23-9 in the final.
Marko Gibbons had 11 to lead Bethlehem while Zach Zonca had 10, Orlando DiBacco had eight and Kendrick McCann had seven.
Alex Barnhill had 25 for Mekeel (1-0, 7-1) to lead all scorers while standout Ozzy DeJesus had 16.
Bethlehem will host Columbia on Friday, Jan 10, and Guilderland on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
