MECHANICVILLE — The Bethlehem girls soccer team is on a roll.

The Eagles, the No. 1 seed in the Section II Class AA tournament, beat Shaker 5-2 in the semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 30, and will play Niskayuna for the championship on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Eighth grader Anna Nichols scored two goals and another eighth grader, Claire Hutton, who broke the school’s single season scoring record earlier this year, scored one. Bea Jones, a standout defender and one of the team’s two seniors, scored a goal and Ruth Hotaling, a sophomore, also scored to round out the offense for Bethlehem.

Abby Dranichak scored for Shaker.

Earlier in the day, Niskayuna, the No. 2 seed, got by the No. 3 seed Shen by a score of 1-0 in double overtime,.

Bethlehem, who went to the state finals last year, will play for its second consecutive Section II title at Mechanicville High School. The game is slated to start at 3 p.m.
