ALBANY — Despite scoring four runs in the bottom of the last, the Bethlehem baseball team dropped a suburban Council game to Burnt Hills 9-7 on Senior Day.
Nick Zigrosser went 3 for 4 with an RBI to lead the offense for Bethlehem while Mike Turoski and Andrew Voelker went 2 for 4. Josh Bein, Geo Ortega and Michael Mullen each had a hit.
Four players from Burnt Hills had a two-hit game: Derek Haughey,, Sam Gardy, Zack Scribner and Alex Morse.
On a rare sunny day, the game originally scheduled for Monday, May 13, was played at UAlbany on Thursday, May 16, and a host of Bethlehem pitchers had a difficult time finding the strike zone, walking nine, and Burnt Hills committed five errors.
Bethlehem will play at Saratoga on Monday, May 20 and finish out the regular season at Mohonasen a day later.
