COLONIE — In one of the most hard-fought, intense matches of the season, Shaker held off Guilderland to win a Suburban Council wrestling match by a final score of 43-31.
The match was closer than the score, though, and it was neck and neck to the final two matches in front of a larger than usual crowd for a duals match.
The individual results are: 99 pounds — Guilderland’s Alex Grupe defeated Shaker’s Antonio Rozek; 106 — Shaker’s Jason Holmes defeated Sam Sosnevsky; 113 — Shaker’s Michael Santore defeated Brian Williams; 120 — Shaker’s Donovan DeGuire defeated Kelson McBride; 126 — Guilderland’s Marcus Berroa defeated Austin Gill; 132 — Shaker’s Ahyad Sameer defeated Dillon Blanchard; 138 — Shaker’s Colby Pierson defeated James Hough; 145 — Guilderland’s Jeffrey Jensen defeated Will Sheppeck; 152 — Shaker’s Tyler Stanton defeated Patrick Blanchard; 160 — Shaker’s Bassir Rezek defeated Sean Collins; 170 — Guilderland’s Austin Grant defeated Ghassan Chehade; 182 — Guilderland’s Cameron Durant defeated Ahmad Farzad; 195 — Guilderland’s Tyler Grupe won by forfeit; 220 — Guilderland’s Sam Hopson defeated Ryan Stein; 285 — Shaker’s Kashon Holmes defeated Jack Nash.
