The Dutchmen clinched a berth in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League playoffs by beating the Saugerties Stallions on Sunday, July 29.
They will play a one-game playoff on Wednesday, Aug. 1, with an opponent and location to be determined.
On Sunday, the Dutchmen scored four runs in the bottom of the second to beat the 23-23 Stallions 7-5 at Connor Park on the Siena College campus.
In the top of the fifth, the Stallions cut the deficit in half on a two-run shot over the left field fence by Jordan Kozicky.
Jerry Huntzinger, of Seton Hall, led the Dutch by going 3 for 4 at the place with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base.
Zach Merchant, of Southern New Hampshire, got the win by allowing two runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and a walk over six inning of work.
Nick Bird, of UAlbany, picked up his third save of the season.
The Dutchmen traveled to Glens Falls to play a doubleheader against The Dragons (14-27) on Monday, July 30, and then finished the regular season with a game in Amsterdam on Tuesday, July 31.
