EAST GREENBUSH – Tri-Village All Stars will play for the Little League state championship on Friday, July 27, against Haverstraw.

Behind a one-hit pitching performance, and some outstanding defense, the Tri-Village 9-11-year-olds earned a shot at the championship by beating Massapequa Coast on Thursday, July 26 by a score of 5-0.

To win the title, Tri-Village will have to get by the team beat the Rockland County squad twice since Bethlehem lost in the first round to Longwood, 9-6, and Haverstraw is undefeated.

Haverstraw beat Saratoga 15-3, then Longwood 10-3, then Massapequa 3-1.

After losing to Longwood, Tri-Village beat Saratoga 10-7, South Shore 5-4, Webster 6-4 and then Massapequa.

The first game starts at 9 a.m. at the East Greenbush/Castleton Little League fields on Gilligan Road.
