BETHLEHEM – Thirty teams from across the state converged at the high school for the ultimate 2018 New York High School Championships.
Sponsored by the Bethlehem Central High School Ultimate Eagles Frisbee Club, teams from the Buffalo, Rochester, Westchester and New York city areas competed in the two-day event.
BC had two teams and Shenendehowa had a team compete in the two-day event, May 26 and May 27.
Ultimate is played with a Frisbee and is loosely a cross between football, soccer, basketball and rugby. But, unlike most other team sports, it doesn’t require referees. Players call their own fouls, discuss it amongst themselves and then move on with the game. It’s called the Spirit of the Game and is the number one rule in Ultimate – play competitively yet fairly at all times.
