COLONIE – Behind a 19-point effort by senior Erin Fouracre, the Raiders won the first round of its holiday tournament by beating Catholic High, 61-56.
Colonie jumped out to a six-point lead after the first, and kept the same margin at the half. But, Catholic High would not go away and was only down three headed into the fourth quarter and just two with 15 seconds left.
Catholic Central’s Emily Frodyma had 21 points to lead all scorers while Ahniysha Jackson and Aaliyah Juste had 14 and nine for Catholic High, respectively.
Sareena DiCerbo had 11 points for Colonie while Aliyah Wright chipped in nine. Also for Colonie, Alivia Paeglow had eight, Kyara Triblet had seven and Ahnalese Pearson had five points on the night.
Colonie will play Averill Park in the championship tonight at 6 p.m. and CCHS will play Shaker in the consolation game at 4:30 p.m.
