GUILDERLAND – The Lady Dutch edged out Bethlehem at home on Tuesday, May 10, by a score of 10-9 in a Suburban Council rivalry.
The score was knotted at four with just over four minutes left in the first half in what was a hard-fought, physical game, but Guilderland (9-1,10-2) went on a 3-0 run to take a 7-4 lead into the break.
Bethlehem (5-4,7-6) made a comeback to tie the score at eight with 14:09 left in the game. It was tied again at nine with 6:36 left in the game until Shea Thompson hit the game winner with 5:54 left.
Thomspon led the Lady Dutch with three goals, Kerry Gerety had two goals and an assist while Amanda Neiman had two goals. Jamie Golderman had a goal and an assist for the Lady Dutch and Kadi Futia and Hayley Kmack each added a goal.
For Bethlehem, Natalie Cook had three goals and two assists, Lindsey Ayers had two goals, Sophia Calabrese had a goal and an assist and Abigail McDonald, Sophie Powers and Kathryn Sancilio each had a goal.
In goal, Alexa Dicaprio had nine saves for Guilderland and Katherine Chiarella had 11 for Guilderland.
