A big road win leads off this Suburban Council boys basketball recap from Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Saratoga 66, Schenectady 58
Despite off nights from Adam Anderson and AJ Lawton, Saratoga (10-5) had enough to pull away late and defeat Schenectady (11-4). Brian Hart had 24 points for the Blue Streaks, while Anderson netted 14 points — nearly six points below his average (19.9 ppg). Tyrone Jenkins scored 18 points for Schenectady.

Troy 88, Shaker 83 (OT)
Without leading scorer Daniel Buie, who recently suffered a foot injury, Troy (10-6) found a way to rally past Shaker (11-5). For more details about the game, go here.

Bethlehem 56, Mohonasen 46
A solid, if not unspectacular, victory for Bethlehem (14-2) against Mohonasen (4-12). Ryan Murray poured in 19 points, and Hayden Thompson chipped in with 16 points for the Eagles. Duncan Tallman’s 14 points paced the Mighty Warriors.

Colonie 77, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 51
Both Bethlehem and Colonie (13-3) kept pace with Shenendehowa (12-2) in the race for first place in the Suburban Council Gray Division. Bryce Waterman drained seven three-pointers and finished with 21 points for the Garnet Raiders against Burnt Hills (1-15). Benjamin Keppler and Joseph Petroski each scored 14 points for the Spartans. Shen pulled out a 69-55 victory over Albany (7-8).

Christian Brothers Academy 55, Niskayuna 52
This was a seesaw contest until CBA (5-11) outscored Niskayuna 22-13 in the third quarter to take control. Pete O’Toole and Scott Trobridge each had 12 points for the Brothers, while Jack Evans sank four three-pointers in a 14-point night for the Silver Warriors (3-13).

Ballston Spa 49, Guilderland 45
Ballston Spa (5-11) outscored Guilderland 17-9 in the fourth quarter to produce the mild upset. Zach Greenwalt’s 13 points paced the Scotties, while Michael Wine netted 12 points for the Dutchmen (8-8).

Averill Park 51, Columbia 41
Columbia (1-14) led this game 25-19 at halftime, but Averill Park (7-9) rallied to defeat the Blue Devils, who have yet to record a league win. Noah Yearsley had 22 points for the Warriors.
