Guilderland got by CBA 28-14 in a Class AA battle of two undefeated teams in the Empire Division Friday, Oct. 7.
For the home team, Guilderland (6-0, 5-0) scored first after Cody Custard recovered a blocked punt in the end zone. CBA (7-1, 6-1) bounced back with a 10-yard run by Nick DeNicola but trailed 7-6 after a failed extra point attempt.
Later in the first quarter, Steve Fedorchak caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from quarterback George Marinopoulos to give Guilderland a 14-6 lead.
In the second quarter Guilderland went to the air again with Brendan Hoffman catching a 10-yard pass from Marinopoulos to extend the lead to 21-6.
CBA would not go away, though, and Amir Taylor returned the kick off 80 yards and after a successful two-point conversion pulled CBA to within a touchdown, 21-14.
Guilderland answered with a 15-yard touchdown run by Stefan Brantley to go up 28-14 and the Dutchman defense shut CBA down in the second half.
