SAUGERTIES — The Albany Dutchmen benefitted from six Saugerties errors to defeat the Stallions 6-1 in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League match-up Thursday, June 9, at Cantine Field.

The Dutchmen (4-2) scored their first run on a Saugerties error in the top of the first inning. They got another run in the top of the third before breaking through with a pair of runs in the fourth inning on an RBI single from Kyle Skeels and another Stallions miscue. JJ Shimko drove in a run with a seventh-inning double and scored on an error.

Shimko (University of South Carolina Upstate) had a pair of hits, scored two runs and added his league-leading seventh stolen base of the season for Albany. Micah McHugh (University of Mississippi) added a double and a run scored.

Four Albany pitchers limited Saugerties (4-2) to two hits and struck out 13 batters. The quartet of Evan Giles, Michael Maul, Drew Robertson and Troy Montemayor held PGCBL batting leader Micah Riddick hitless in four at-bats with three strikeouts.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again Friday, June 10, in Saugerties.
