Track and field: Two Noahs shine for Guilderland at state meet qualifier

CLIFTON PARK —  Guilderland’s Noah Carey won two individual events at the Section 2 Division 1 state meet track and field qualifier June 2 and 3 at Shenendehowa High School.

Carey won the 1,600-meter race with a time of 4:20.34 and finished first in the 3,200-meter race with a time of 9:41.65. He also ran the anchor leg on the Dutchmen’s 1,600-meter relay team, which won with a time of 3:22.76.

Guilderland’s Noah Tindale claimed first place in the 800-meter race with a time of 1:55.11.

Bethlehem’s Jacob Davis earned a victory in the boys discus throw with a distance of 145 feet, 9 inches. Malick Diamonde finished second in the 400-meter dash and the high jump, and Dawson Homer placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. All three Eagles qualified for this weekend’s state meet in Syracuse.

On the girls’ side, Bethlehem’s Julia Nugent won the 400-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 1:02.88. Guilderland’s Isabella Bruno finished first in the triple jump with a distance of 35 feet, 5.25 inches.

Bethlehem’s Tedi DeMaria placed second in the pole vault by clearing 11 feet, 6 inches.
