Editor, The Spotlight;
I write to express my strong support for the candidacy of Democrat Brent Meredith, who is seeking reelection as Bethlehem’s Highway Superintendent. I voted for Brent two years ago because I liked his focus on pedestrian safety and his commitment to make Bethlehem more walkable and pedestrian friendly.
In the short two years that Brent has been in office, I have noticed many improvements around town that have demonstrated that Brent has fulfilled his commitment to improve our roads and walkways. In my own neighborhood in central Delmar, I have noticed that several unsafe intersections have been fixed with new crosswalks that make it safer for pedestrians to cross, as well as new stop signs that slow traffic in our neighborhoods. As the parent of two children who are constantly traveling around the neighborhood on their bikes and on foot, I appreciate that Brent and his team at the Highway Department have made changes that have made my family safer.
I am voting for Brent again this year because he cares about safety on our roads and sidewalks, and he delivers results. I ask my friends and neighbors to also consider voting for Brent on Nov. 3.
