Editor, The Spotlight;
On Saturday, Aug. 2, I was enjoying a lovely afternoon bike ride with my 9-year-old daughter and her friends when my daughter suddenly fell off her bike and sustained bumps and bruises.
We were at the corner of Cherry Avenue and Orchard. Within seconds, a very kind woman who lives to this corner pulled up beside us and offered help. With my daughter crying in pain and the bumps swelling before my eyes, I was incredibly grateful for her sudden appearance. Within minutes, she had gone home and returned with an ice pack and insisted we keep it.
In a world that seems to be increasingly filled with unspeakable acts of violence and cruelty, my faith in humanity is reaffirmed by the compassion and kindness shown by this good Samaritan. My family is deeply appreciative. Thank you.
