Editor, The Spotlight;
I was pleased to read in the April 27 Sunday Times Union that Voorheesville Elementary School was honored as the “Number 2 Small Employer” in the Capital Region.
Over the past few years, I have visited this wonderful school countless times to watch my grand niece and nephews participate in musical concerts, sports activities, science fairs, garden harvestings and graduations.
Each time I visited the school, I was impressed with the atmosphere of respect that VES has created. This is evidenced most visibly as you first enter the school and see the student artwork hanging everywhere in the halls.
It is also visible in the ever-present, high-energy VES principal, Dr. Reardon, often seen flying down the halls, stopping to greet a student by name or chatting with a visiting parent picking up a child after school. Voorheesville Elementary School is a model for all other schools. It is like a family — nurturing and caring for its children.
I know that because of VES and Dr. Reardon, my grand niece and nephews have a solid foundation both academically and socially that will help them to become responsible adults and make the world a better place through their contributions. Thank you VES!
