LETTER: Thanks are in order for businesses

Editor, The Spotlight:

This is a big thank you to local businesses listed below from New Scotland, Bethlehem and Colonie who recently contributed donations for silent auction and gift baskets as part of a fundraiser held June 1 at the Hibernian Hall in Albany. The turnout for the event was fabulous despite fierce thunderstorms and record 90 degree heat.

Funds raised from this event went to assist a nurse with more than 37 years of service to Albany Medical Center Hospital in her recovery after experiencing a sudden onset of paralysis. Nurses are a funny bunch; we give the care and are not the best at accepting help.

Please know that as this nurse, who is now a patient, continues to recover; hopefully she will return to this region, and return to your establishments once again.

I was a member of a committee of people who sponsored this event and was never more proud of being part of such a generous business community.

Patricia M. Caporta, RN

Thank you to: Emma Cleary’s, Delmar Market Place, Jiffy Lube, CoccaDots, Window Box Café, I Love Books, Hoffman’s Car Wash, Bella Napoli, Studio 85 Hair Design, Swifty’s Restaurant, 333 Restaurant, Mile Stone Restaurant, Falvo Meats, Hannaford Markets, DiNapoli Opticians, Something Old Something New, Delaware Plaza Wine, Sherwin Williams Paint, The Paper Mill, Finishing Touch Hair Salon, Andriano’s Pizza, Great Wall Chinese Restaurant, Mercato’s Restaurant, Day Dreams Spa.
