Putting aside whether the referendum was good or bad, it was hardly an “overwhelming vote”. Only 137 voters voted at all and so the tax levy increase was thrust on us by 105 people (probably many of them volunteers) out of several thousand voters in the District. This is indicative of the apathy that infects Bethlehem in the School Budget and local elections. Whose fault is it? We have no one to blame but ourselves. Bethlehem deserves better.
