Editor, The Spotlight:
First and foremost, thank you to all who voted for me and supported my reelection to a second term as your Albany County Legislator in the 36th District. I appreciate the confidence you placed in me to deal with the difficult issues now facing the Albany County.
As I walked and met voters during the campaign, all were appalled at the proposed 19.2% tax increase and expressed their disapproval and concern, especially in light of the Governor’s 2% tax Cap. The 2% Cap can be exceeded if 60% of the Legislators vote in favor to override the Cap. I will be voting NO.
On Tuesday, November 29th, at 7:15 PM at the County Building at 112 State Street in Albany in the Cahill room on the First Floor, there will be the opportunity for you to speak to Legislature. I strongly encourage you, your friends and neighbors to come to that meeting and let the Legislators know how you feel about the tax increase and overriding the 2% Cap. If you cannot attend, contact your Legislator by phone or email. Contact information can be obtained at www.albanycounty.com.
Your voices need to be heard and they can make a difference. If you are silent, more than likely you will see a double digit tax increase in your County Taxes.
