Please join us on Monday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m., for a ribbon cutting and reception to celebrate the completion of Phase 1 in the library renovation project.

Reception to follow.

Wellness with essential oils

Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m.

Stress affects our nervous system health, and long-term stress leads to disease. Three types of stressors affecting the human body are physical, emotional and chemical. Physical stressors can impair the function of your body, emotional stressors can alter your mental state and chemical stressors can cause toxicity within your body.

Essential oils enable innate and natural healing from the effects of stress. This one-hour class will discuss myriad of concerns, from ADHD to cancer to grief to infections to seizures, etc., and how you may utilize essential oils to receive natural healing sustainably.

LisaMarie Tersigni has a great passion in helping others to heal and live well. She is a functional wellness practitioner, healer, and owner of Inspiring Wellness Solutions, LLC. Registration is required online or call 518-810-0314.

Full Moon walk

Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.

Learn how to explore the night sky with astronomy apps while taking a special night time stroll after hours at The Crossings.

Bring a bottle of water, flashlight, and bug spray.

Technology Overview: What device is right?

Monday, Sept. 16 at 9:30 a.m.

Demystify the terms used to describe today’s technology. What makes this such a smartphone? Learn about the differences between a smartphone, tablet, and laptop. Hear terms like Wi-Fi, data, Bluetooth, memory, USB, virtual keyboards, the cloud, texting, streaming, skype, FaceTime, Facebook, Pandora, Chrome, apps and software all explained by skilled instructors in an easy, practical way to ensure understanding.

This is a demonstration only class. Participants are welcome to bring their own devices, but the session is not hands on.

Presenters Eleonora Morrell and John Dowley are from MicroKnowledge, Inc. And have been teaching Technology classes at the Albany Guardian Society.

To register, call 518-434-2140 or email [email protected]
