The 23rd annual Bethlehem Garden Club Tour on June 12 was a well attended event thanks to gorgeous weather and the six gardens and the gardeners who shared their beautiful yards and many of the Bethlehem Garden Club who worked hard to make this happen.
Many thanks to the garden owners who shared their gardens for 272 visitors: David Weinreb, Lyn and Steve Malinowski, Kathy and Lance Raffe, Jack and Christine Simeone, Darlene and David Clark, and Carolyn King.
There were many supporters who helped make this day a positive one. We would like to thank: The Spotlight for its fine press coverage, the Bethlehem Police and Highway Department for giving advise on route directions and providing traffic cones to help with parking; Delmar Presbyterian Church for letting us use their facilities, Windsor Development Group for enabling ticket sales, the Elk Sign Shop for printing our advertising and directional signs, and especially the members of the Bethlehem Garden Club and their families who spent long hours before, during, and after the event.
Several locally-owned restaurants gave discounts to tour attendees who showed their ticket booklet on the night of the tour: Many thanks go to 333 Cafe, Delmar Bistro, Garden Bistro 24, Shalimar, Shogun, TAJ, Teahouse Asian Bistro, Tomo Asian Bistro, and Twisted Vine for allowing tour goers to continue their delightful evening at local restaurants.
The funds raised from the Garden Tour and Botanical Boutique are returned to the community through public gardens, benches, trees, and environmental and educational projects around the town.
What a special evening it was for everyone: gardens to view and delicious dining at a discount. We look forward to seeing you next year on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 for another memorable evening. Help keep the tradition going.
