VOORHEESVILLE LIBRARY: The MAGIC Years

Kids in grades 4 to 8 are invited to this 1:30 p.m. matinee on Friday, April 26.

“The magical, spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis, who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. Adapted from a children’s classic by John Bellairs” (IMDB). Rated PG, 105 minutes. Popcorn and snacks will be served. No registration needed.

Screen Free Week

Please be sure to check out our online calendar, or stop by the Library, for information about Screen Free Week happenings. The Library is partnering with several other community groups to hold events that do not revolve around a smart phone or computer terminal.

To start off the week, drop in at the Elementary Playground, Monday, April 29 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., for a family fun night.

We will be having an evening of outdoor play, storytime, STEM stations from Leiana Hawkins of Springboard Experiences, and a visit from the Emack & Bolio’s Ice Cream Truck. No registration needed.

Pete Seeger

Join us at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 for a very special multi-media lecture and Q&A to celebrate the centennial birthday of beloved folk legend Pete Seeger!

Noted music writer Jesse Jarnow, author of “Wasn’t That a Time: The Weavers, the Blacklist and the Battle for the American Soul,” presents a program enhanced by photo projections and music.

Featuring the talents of musician Michael Eck and friends.

Presented in partnership with the Empire State Plaza performing Arts Center.

Register in person, or at 518-765-2791 or at http://voorheesvillelibrary.org/calendar.asp.
