Interested in genealogy or local history? Start with us — we’re here to help! On Saturday, March 2, at 2 p.m., Monica Gray explains researching within the New York State Archives located in Albany. Attendees will discover how to tap into this rich but sometimes daunting resource. Additionally, professional genealogist and Guilderland resident Lisa Dougherty provides free family history consultations on a drop-in basis the second Wednesday of each month. The next session is slated for Wednesday, March 13, from 6-8 p.m. Lisa will work with you to help uncover your roots, utilizing various resources including several databases we have onsite.
Our popular Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes continue on select Thursday mornings at 11 a.m. through the end of May. The next class is slated for Thursday, Feb. 28, give it a try! This gentle exercise helps strengthen and relax muscles and joints, while bolstering balance. Our instructor, Rich Goodhart, is a certified Tai Chi/QiGong instructor, and has taught at both the Omega Institute and the Kripalu Center in Lenox, Mass. Please pre-register by phone, online or in person, and wear comfortable clothing.
