Capital District Genealogical Society: Rensselaer County Genealogical Resources

Join Kathy Sheehan, registrar at the Rensselaer County Historical Society and Rensselaer County and City of Troy Historian, for a lecture on the genealogy resources available at the historical society. Highlights will include the Rensselaer County Surrogate Court records, the Matera Midwife records, poorhouse records, plus other hidden gems that are part of the collection at RCHS.

Town of Colonie Historical Society: Schuyler Sisters: Growing Up Before & After the American Revolution

“Hamilton: An American Musical” has brought fame to the eldest three daughters of Major General Philip Schuyler and Catharine Van Rensselaer Schuyler — Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy. Less famous, but no less interesting is the story of their Albany Dutch upbringing, their family turmoil amidst the unrest of the American Revolution, and the lives of their two younger sisters Cornelia and Caty.

Presenter Danielle Funiciello is an Historian with an MA in Public History and a current PhD student at University at Albany.

Program starts at 1:30 p.m.

Free Movie Monday: “Mission Impossible: Fallout” 

Ethan Hunt and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies, race against time after a mission gone wrong. Rated: PG-13, Runtime: 147 minutes.

Trivia Bingo Night

Test your trivia knowledge on a variety of topics — and your luck — with this fun twist on trivia. Prizes are up for grabs during four rounds of questions, ranging from easy to hard. Registration is required: online or call 518-810-0314.

Capital District Conservation Advisory Council Roundtable

Conservation advisory councils and county Environmental Management Councils advise municipal boards and agencies on environmental matters, conduct research, and contribute to local conservation policy and planning. This roundtable is a forum for CAC and EMC members to share successes and learn about the conservation efforts of neighboring communities.

Presenters: Ingrid Haeckel is a conservation and land use specialist at the state Department of Environmental Conservation Hudson River Estuary Program and Cornell University. Jill Falchi is a sustainability planner at Capital District Regional Planning Commission.

Program starts at 5 p.m.
