Dear Editor,
I just recently completed my term as the Bethlehem Football Booster Club President and wanted to take a moment to say “Thank You” to the school administration, the coaches, the players, and all the local businesses and parents for your support and participation in making the last two years a success. Just like on a farm, many hands make little work. I cannot thank everyone enough for their support and assistance.
I would also like to thank Joe Bonacci, who is one of our past Presidents. Joe was the one who got me involved with the Club over three years ago via a simple e-mail he sent to me one evening. For those parents of a current player, please reach out to someone else you know and ask them to become a Booster Club supporter. It is through your active involvement that the Club can provide aid and resources to our players. Whether it is assisting players in need to attend camps and other events, supporting activities such as Senior and Homecoming Night, or securing donations for the team picnic or our end of season banquet and parties, the Club serves an important purpose and unifies the local football community. Although seasons change, our support for our children’s athletics cannot waiver.
This past January, John Carlino took over the reins of the Football program and looks to build on the success and foundation established by Rick Leach, who led the program to four straight Section 2 Class AA playoff appearances. The returning players have been busy this spring, not only through their involvement in the weight room and spring sports, but also in the community by volunteering and giving their time to those in need.
For all those interested, the Booster Club is again sponsoring their “Little Eagles” Flag Football Camp this summer, which will run June 25 to June 29 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Hamagrael Elementary School. This camp is for students entering Grades 2 through 6 and instruction will be provided by Coach Carlino and his staff and players. Any questions regarding the camp can be send to John Carlino via e-mail at [email protected].
The Booster Club meets the second Tuesday of each month in Room 238D at the High School and would welcome all parties interested in supporting the Bethlehem Football Program. Just like on the field, it is important to stay just as active even in the months that do not end in ber. This applies to the Booster Club as well. Please join in me in supporting Coach Carlino and the Bethlehem Football Booster Club this coming season. All in!
Dave Gillespie,
Delmar
