GLENMONT — When you let the fantastic staff at Shannon’s Barbershop BA give you a fresh cut, you’re supporting a local small businessman with a family of his own.
Bill Asprion is a proud resident of Bethlehem; that’s not up for interpretation. Asprion, his wife Donna, their two daughters and three grandchildren are all from the 518. Asprion and his children are all graduates of Bethlehem Central. His wife is from Selkirk and works for Bethlehem Central School District, transporting your children to and from school each day for over 30 years. Asprion works at DeNooyer Chevrolet when he’s not at the shop. In every part of Asprion’s life, quality and supporting your local businesses are front and center.
“I bought the barbershop last year because I’ve always wanted to own a small, local business,” Asprion said. “When the opportunity opened, I stepped through the door. It fit what I was looking for.”
Asprion credits his “fantastic” staff — Shannon, Christina and Renee — with providing quality service and compassionate visits. The three women offer career expertise while still relating to their customers. Asprion said when he purchased the barbershop from Master Barber Shannon Haslam, who has become a household name for her skills, everyone stayed.
Reviews for Shannon’s on Facebook show a loyal support system. “Great experience,” customer Jessica Keuchler Arnold wrote. “My husband and two boys loved it. We will be going back as soon as they need another cut.”
Asprion pledges to keep the reputation of Shannon’s strong.
“All my life, I’ve been giving back to the community,” Asprion, the 40-year Selkirk Fire Department veteran, said. “My family and I appreciate your business and your continued support. We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.”
Shannon’s Barbershop BA is located in Glenmont Plaza, in the left-hand rear corner. The shop is open for new summer hours; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For appointments, call 518-463-4247.
