Ayhan and Tony Celik, Aynur Celik Kildiz, and Sedad Kildiz worked together to create Extra Napkin in 2015 with the purpose of making great tasting, healthy and quickly prepared food from scratch.
“We try and earn our name,” says chef and co-owner Ayhan Celik, “whenever you visit us you will need an extra napkin for our delicious and juicy food.”
At Extra Napkin, the clean open kitchen and friendly staff create an atmosphere that makes every customer feel welcome while food is being prepared and after it’s served. The restaurant is additionally very stylistically designed, being decorated with a number of historic photos and city imagery to add to the eating experience even more. The owners are always directly involved, making sure that everything is running smoothly and hearing input directly from their customers.
“Our first priority is not making money,” Celik says, “the first priority is taking care of our customers, taking care of our guests.”
The scope of Extra Napkin’s menu is gigantic, featuring food such as hot dogs and their specialty hamburgers, Italian dishes such as pasta and stuffed eggplant and desserts such as cakes and tiramisu. The menu features all of the selections from Mercatos, the Italian restaurant associated with the same family. They try to keep their food as healthy as they can as well, cooking on a grill whenever possible, always using fresh ingredients and providing a number of healthier options with their various salads, kebabs and wraps. No matter your taste or what meal, Extra Napkin will always have something you can enjoy.
“If anyone would like to have a great customer service and food experience they’re more than welcome to visit the Extra Napkin,” Celik concluded.
Extra Napkin is a seven-day operation open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on 159 Delaware Ave, Delmar.
