LATHAM — No matter what sport you play, gymnastics can provide the foundation. Flexibility, coordination and education are the cornerstones of a successful athletic, and even academic, life. World Class Gymnastics is able to give you all of this.
The two facilities, located in Latham and Clifton Park, are chock-full of coaches who are USA Gymnastics certified. The staff spends a significant amount of time researching new skills and developments to be the most up-to-date it can be. These same people are the driving force behind the record number of athletes who went to national championships. Six of WCGA’s students competed this year — not only is this a record for WCGA, this is a record for gymnastics in the area.
“We offer classes for all ages and anyone who wants to join,” marketing manager Jan Zoller said. While not anyone can walk in and be part of the competition teams, “we can accommodate almost any schedule and offer classes for anyone who is interested.” This includes those who have no previous experience.
Classes are offered seven days a week, with some being offered as many as three to four times a day. Classes geared toward younger children are not just gymnastics; they’re learning while they exercise. The preschool curriculum incorporates colors, shapes, sequencing and many other K-readiness skills. Parents have told Zoller their young children are ahead of their peers because of the lessons they learned in class. High school athletes are often seen in the facilities too. WCGA offers tumbling classes that focus exclusively on floor and trampoline exercises which many cheerleaders take advantage of. Adults are not excluded either with multiple adult only class offerings! The facility offers an impressive 8-week curriculum that progresses each session throughout the year keeping both young and old coming back for more.
World Class offers several programs during the summer for your inner athlete. Summer camp is run for the full 10-week summer session. Registration is offered by the week and children can sign up for half days, full days and even single days!
“The summer camp registration system is valuable for those who want to try the program without too much commitment in the beginning,” Zoller said. The commitment factor usually comes into play quickly, as Zoller said most students who sign up for one or two days end up committing for a week or even more.
In addition, WCGA offers family discounts for siblings and multi-wek registrations. With so many options, WCGA is bound to have a program that fits your needs!
