SLINGERLANDS – On July 21 at 8:40 a.m. State Police from Latham BCI, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, arrested Andrew Pegler, 35, of Bethlehem, NY, for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child and Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, both felonies, and Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest, both misdemeanors.
Pegler is accused of possessing and promoting images consistent with child sexual exploitation via the internet. His arrest followed an investigation stemming from a cyber tip received by the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
He was processed at SP Latham and arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court, where he was remanded to Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
According to Police, there is the potential for additional charges. The current charges do not involve local victims, but the investigation is ongoing.
His picture and arrest information has been released in other states where there may be additional victims.
