Bethlehem police arrested Benjamin A. Garretson, 41, of Ravena, Monday, Sept. 7, and charged him with two felony counts of burglary, two felony counts of grand larceny and felony criminal mischief.
Police say Garretson is responsible for several burglaries, which took place two weeks ago in Selkirk in the River Road area, south of New York State Thruway Exit 22. Garretson allegedly broke into multiple homes and stole items of value during daytime hours.
Information from the public proved integral to the two-week investigation, said police. Bethlehem police, alongside the New York State Police Special Investigations Unit and the Town of Coeymans Police Department, led the investigation.
Garretson was arraigned in Town of Bethlehem Court and remanded to Albany County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court Tuesday, Sept. 8.
