State Police arrested an Albany woman for allegedly forging documents to make her appear to be licensed attorney.
A background investigation on Carina E. Comiskey, 29, revealed she submitted forged documents for a governor’s appointment as a New York State Justice Center attorney, according to police. Comiskey claimed to have passed the state bar examination, but an investigation revealed she allegedly failed the exam during each of her four attempts.
Police arrested Comiskey on Tuesday, April 22, and charged her with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, both felonies, and falsifying business records in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
Judge Margaret Adkins arraigned Comiskey in New Scotland Town Court and released her. She is scheduled to appear in Town Court on Thursday, April 24, at 5 p.m.
Police said Comiskey graduated from Albany Law School with a Juris Doctorate.
