Jason Rudebush, 29, of Voorheesville, was sentenced on Wednesday, Jan. 29, to four years in State Prison, followed by three years of post release supervision, according to District Attorney David Soares.
Rudebush had pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony, stemming from his arrest two years ago.
Police attempted to stop Rudebush on July 15, 2012, for driving 17 mph over the speed limit on Altamont Boulevard in the Village of Altamont. Police said Rudebush sped up to 80 mph as he tried evading police. He pulled into an apartment complex and tried to flee on foot.
Police could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside his vehicle and searched it, finding 500 milligrams of psilocybin mushrooms, a digital scale and several baggies.
