The Town of Colonie Police Department is investigating a report of an armed robbery that took place Sunday, Jan.19 at 7:55 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sons of Caesar Social Club on Everett Road. One of the club members, a 54-year-old male from Green Island, exited the club to smoke a cigarette and was approached in the parking lot by two suspects demanding money.
One of the suspects was armed with black revolver with brown handles. When the victim refused to hand over his money, the suspect with the gun placed it to the victim’s head and the other suspect went through his pockets. Between $1500.00 and $1700.00 in cash was stolen from the victim. The suspects then ran to a vehicle in the lot. The vehicle was a dark color four-door sedan, possibly brown. No shots were fired and the victim did not require medical attention.
There was an armed robbery a short time earlier in the City of Albany, but it is unknown if they are related. There is no video surveillance or images of the suspects or vehicle.
The suspects are described as a black male in his late 20’s or early 30’s, 6’0”, 210 pounds, black dreadlock hair and dark eyes wearing a green jacket.
The second suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20’s, 5’6” and 150 pounds, with large black-rimmed glasses. The suspect was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black Nike sneakers.
The suspects were driving a dark color four door sedan, possibly brown. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Colonie Police Department at 518-783-2744.
