Colonie police are investigating a report of an armed robbery at the Super 8 Motel at 1579 Central Ave. According to the investigation, at about 1:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, a woman reported that two men entered her hotel room demanding money. One of the men displayed what appeared to be a small silver handgun. The woman said the men stole personal effects from her room, including a cellphone, handbag and barber-style clippers. The suspects are described as a Hispanic man with facial hair on his chin, 5-foot-10, weighing 175 pounds and wearing a red baseball hat, tan vest and white and red camouflage pants with red and white Nike sneakers, and a clean-shaven black man, 5-foot-7, weighing 170 pounds and wearing a black hood sweatshirt, blue jeans and black Nike sneakers. The second suspect was carrying what is believed to be a silver handgun. They were seen leaving the scene in a small silver SUV eastbound on Central Avenue. The vehicle is described as having a tire with a hard cover mounted on the back of it. No one was injured in the incident.
The victim had advertised herself as an escort on Backpage.com and answered the door for one the suspects believing that he was a customer. The second suspect then also entered the room.
There is no video surveillance or images of the suspect available at this time.
