Police are investigating a bicycle-automobile accident that occurred at approximately 10:25 p.m. Monday on Cohoes Crescent Road.
The bicyclist was riding south on Cohoes Crescent Road in the area of Fonda Road when he was struck from behind. The vehicle involved in the accident then left the scene. The bicyclist was transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The Colonie Police Department described the vehicle as a dark gray 2002 to 2006 Hyundai Elantra, which should be missing the passenger side door mirror. The car was last seen going into Cohoes.
Police said the driver might not have known they struck someone because the road was very dark. Regardless, police are looking to speak with the driver as soon as possible.
