Guilderland police stopped an Albany man for a traffic violation only to discover he had allegedly stolen a vehicle from a funeral home and possessed other stolen items.
Police said Rayshawn R. Cole, 23, of Albany, left Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont and traveled down Route 146 into Guilderland Center on Thursday, May 16. Police stopped Cole for failing to keep right, stopping in the road and passing a red light. Police then discovered Cole was wanted by the Albany Police Department.
An investigation led Guilderland police to determine Cole allegedly stole the vehicle from the funeral home. Cole also stole a 32-inch flat screen TV, Playstation, Playstation games and an Apple laptop from an apartment he was visiting, according to police.
Cole was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony, with the filing of further charges expected.
