Guilderland police arrested two women who were allegedly using forged travelers checks at stores in Crossgates Mall.
A loss prevention officer at Old Navy called police to the mall after he allegedly witnessed Alexandria C. Subero, 20, of 197th St. in St. Albans, use a forged American Express travelers check at the store. The checks were made in the name of Rebecca Livingston, according to police. When using the checks she allegedly presented the driver’s license of her cousin, Rebecca Kingston, police said.
The United States Secret Service assisted with the investigation.
Subero was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a felony, two counts of petit larceny and one count of criminal impersonation in the second degree.
Police said when Subero’s friend, Shatanik T. Holloway, came to pick her up from the Guilderland Police Station her friend was arrested for passing the same style checks.
Holloway, 19, of 10th Street Apt. 5A in Long Island, was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a felony, and petit larceny.
Both women were remanded to Albany County jail, with Holloway on $10,000 bail and Subero without bail.
