The Colonie Police Department were trying to locate a 43-year-old male who was reported missing Thursday, Feb. 28, morning but was found the following day.
The missing man, John F. Belus, had been seen on Tuesday, Feb. 26, and had sent text messages to a relative indicating that he may be suicidal, according to police. Belus has a history of alcohol abuse and is known to hang out in Albany, police said.
Colonie police said they were handing out missing persons flyers at the Ramada Inn, at 3 Watervliet Ave. Ext., Friday, March 1, and discovered he registered at the hotel around noon.
Belus was treated at the scene by the Albany Fire Department and transported to St. Peter’s Hospital for evaluation.
