Latham police are investigating over $16,000 of stolen tools removed from box trucks over the weekend of Friday, Oct. 19, New York State police said.
The box trucks were parked near the Exit 6 area of Interstate 90 in Albany in conjunction with construction work performed for rust removal and the painting of bridges and overpasses near I-90. The locked Amstar Painting of Cheektowaga box trucks were left unattended.
Police said two trucks storing tools were forcibly entered and the tools inside them were stolen. There was no damage to the trucks except for the forced entry, police said.
If anyone knows any information or may have witnessed anything unusual over that weekend in the area of Exit 6, they should call 783-3211.
