A teenage boy was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Guilderland.
Police said on Tuesday, Aug, 14 around 2:30 p.m. a 13-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while crossing the ramp to the Northway headed north from Western Avenue. Dan Morlock, 51, of Watervliet was driving his vehicle westbound, when he said the boy pulled out in front of his, according to police.
The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet, according to police, but his injuries were not serious. He was sent to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
The Guilderland police, Western Turnpike Rescue Squad, Guilderland EMS, and Altamont Rescue Squad all responded to the call.
Police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident and no charges have been filed or tickets issued. Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact the Guilderland Police Department at 518-358-1501.
