A retired cop shot himself in the leg in the changing room at Sears in Colonie Center on Tuesday, July 24, according to Colonie police.
Robert Talbot, 56, of Ballston Spa is a retired investigator with State Police. Around 8:22 p.m. on July 24, Colonie police received a call for a person with a gunshot wound to the leg and when responding units arrived, they determined that Talbot had accidentally shot himself in the knee with his personally owned North American Arms .22 revolver while he was changing clothes, according to police. Talbot was transported to Albany Medical Center and police said it did not appear his wounds were life threatening.
